Description
Found sea stone and driftwood woven with handcrafted cordage (Dianella tasmanica). The cordage has lovely shades of red amongst the beige from the plant leaf. Stone measures approximately 15x12cm, is a dark grey/charcoal and slightly speckled (volcanic rock, Taranaki).
This craft dates back centuries and takes on a variety of forms and functions that evoke the calm, tranquil meditation of nature. Woven stones can be used as way-markers, meditation focal points, memorial stones, paperweights, as a decor piece or anything else that takes your fancy.
According to Feng shui, the grounded energy provided by smooth stones helps to bring peace, prosperity and abundance into an area. Their close connection to water, which is associated with wealth, can bring about many positive changes when applied correctly.  They are an ideal example of what can happen when water and land come together; two elements collaborating to creating something beautiful, natural and auspicious.
