Woven sea stone #31

Found sea stone woven with a handcrafted dandelion cordage and dried lavender. Stone measures approximately 15x8cm.

I select each stone for its individual character and shape, then envelope in a carefully thought out pattern that complements its form. Although sometimes, the stone lets me know how it wants to be woven.

My hope is that the fusion of stone and fibre creates a harmonious balance, highlighting the texture and colour of both materials. The result is a tactile object that invites touch and exploration, allowing you to appreciate the stone’s natural qualities alongside the artistry of the weave.

Woven stones serve not only as decorative items but also as grounding elements, encouraging a deeper connection with nature and a reminder of the beauty found in both the earth and human creativity.
