In my search for sustainable brush/broom making, I’m using leaves from wild harvested local Tī kōuka (cabbage tree, Cordyline australis) to make a nice sized hand-broom. Each listing here has a handwoven 100% cotton band and hanger. Based on an Appalachian weaving pattern, I designed these lovely bristled brushes as a functional broom and/or display piece.
These handcrafted brooms are perfect for steps, paths, outdoor furniture, hearth, hard floors, house exteriors, work benches, trucks . . . the list goes on! They also make a striking wall hanging inside and are made to be used and admired.

- As these are handcrafted, no two will be the same.
- These brooms are rustic as are made from raw plant fibre with minimal processing.
- Store hanging or laying flat in a damp-free place.
- The entire broom can be composted at home at the end of its life.
- Can be custom made in colour(s) of your choosing – a combination or one colour. Colours currently available are gingerbread, blush pink, black, dark red, khaki, raisin, charcoal, indigo (see last photo attached). Please advise colour(s) in the comments at check out.
