This very mild “Castile” felted soap is a super gentle, soothing bar. It is unscented and is very gentle on the skin. To make these bars even more special they are felted with a jacket of local, naturally coloured, homespun wool.
Castile soap was made in the Mediterranean area before its use spread to Europe. Traditionally, castile soap was made of olive oil. It gets its name from the Castile region of Spain. Olive oil makes a long lasting bar, that is gentle with a low lather.
The soft felted wool provides a gentle exfoliation and a deep, nourishing cleanse for healthier vibrant skin. The natural wool fibres shrink around the soap with use, making the bars last far longer than with any naked bar (providing they are left to dry out between uses).
All natural, no nasties, just the good stuff – better for your skin and for the environment.
Available as 100g bars
Hold the bar under running water, rub gently and then feel how the wool foams up and gently exfoliates your skin. As you use the soap, the wool will keep shrinking around the soap. Eventually you’re left with a piece of wool that you may be able to cut open and insert another small bar into, use further for cleaning or simply compost at home.
Olive oil, filtered water, sodium hydroxide*, salt & love.

Before using – To store handmade soap before using, please ensure you keep them somewhere dry and dark, away from humidity. Ideally not in the bathroom, instead store in linen cupboard, closet or drawers.
While in use – For maximum longevity while using, please store on a well drained soap dish or shelf and allow to dry out between uses. I find standing bars on their end helps them drain and dry out better. Ask for a free pumice at check out to use as a soap stand.
Please note: All my soap are handcrafted and cut in small batches, so variations will occur in size and appearance. I am not making any medical claims regarding this product.
